Bali Governor Wayan Koster congratulated the XVIII Anniversary of the Indonesian Arts Institute (ISI) Denpasar academic community, when he was trusted to be the speaker at the online event via the video conference room at Jayasabha’s residence, Denpasar, Wednesday (27/7).
“On behalf of the provincial government of Bali and the people of Bali, as well as governor and chairman of the board of trustees, I wish you a very happy 18th Anniversary of ISI Denpasar. Wishing you always Jaya and success in carrying out the mandate as the front guard in strengthening and influencing the progress of Indonesian arts and culture, especially in Bali, “said the governor.
Furthermore, the Governor who is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ISI Denpasar conveyed that the success of ISI at the age of 18 has laid the direction of scientific and institutional development in a good and strategic manner. Besides, it has also directed the orientation of art and design learning based on the promotion of tradition, art and culture as well as local wisdom of Bali and the archipelago
“The artistic creations of ISI Denpasar people always color art and cultural events organized by the Regency/City Government, the Provincial Government of Bali as well as Nationally and Internationally,” he said while expressing support for the efforts to develop ISI Denpasar’s institutions in responding to the challenges and dynamics of the times ahead.
“The name change of ISI Denpasar to ISI Bali is in line with the branding of Bali. This will of course be accompanied by the development of a more progressive art structure, new media designs and digital art technology based on the local wisdom of the Balinese people,” added the Governor who was born in Sembiran village, Buleleng.
At the end of his remarks, the Governor expressed his hope that ISI Denpasar people could synergize with the local government, becoming Bali province development assistants who play a role in advancing the lives of Balinese people through art and culture.
The event was also collaborated with the opening of the Padma Bhuwana Bali International Festival which was opened by the Indonesian Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Nadiem Anwar Makarim. He also reminded the importance of arts and culture as a center of information and cultural diplomacy, which should be guarded and preserved.
On the other hand, the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing of the Republic of Indonesia M. Bazuki Hadi Mulyono as the speaker of the Scientific Oration stated the great influence of art in the design of Indonesian public infrastructure. In this case, according to him, Bali is a good example of how the elements of art from generation to generation affect life and development and become the identity of the community.
Meanwhile, the Chancellor of ISI Denpasar Prof. Dr. I Wayan ‘Kun’ Adnyana in his report conveyed the various achievements that have been achieved by ISI Denpasar, both from a scientific and institutional perspective. Various developments were also carried out in order to produce superior quality human resources, professional, with integrity and also serving.
At the end of the event, awards were also presented to the 8 recipients of the Bali Bhuana Nata Kerthi Nugraha Award. Also attending the event was the Deputy Governor of Bali, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati, who is also a Non-Permanent Professor of ISI Denpasar. (BTN/bud)
