The award was in the category of Regency Regional Government that has a commitment to Child Protection and Reporting based on Information System Monitoring Evaluation Reporting (SIMEP) Child Protection in 2021. Award presentation implemented virtually. The award was received by the Deputy Regent of Gianyar Anak Agung Gde Mayun, accompanied by the Head of the Office for Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning, Cokorda Gede Bagus Lesmana Trisnu in the Command Center Room, Gianyar Regent’s Office, Thursday (22/7).

Head of KPAI Dr. Susanto, MA said, with the grace of KPAI, hopefully it can contribute and foster positive pioneering for child protection in Indonesia. Indonesia is one of the countries that is committed to the implementation of child protection, as evidenced by the regulations related to child protection contained in laws, government regulations, perpu, presidential regulations, ministerial regulations, regional regulations and other policies. However, the child protection index in Indonesia is still not as expected, which only reached 63.67% of the fulfillment of children’s rights and the special protection index reached 77.03%.

In order to encourage the acceleration of child protection, KPAI continues to innovate in carrying out the tasks set out in Law 35 of 2014, as a supervisor for the fulfillment of children’s rights and special protection. One of the developments is the Digital-based Child Protection Monitoring Evaluation Reporting Information System (SIMEP) to optimize child protection supervision.

Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia, I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati, SE, M.Sc. appreciate the KPAI for holding the KPAI 2021 grace activity, which can inspire and strengthen child protection throughout Indonesia which coincides with National Children’s Day which falls on July 23. “I and the ranks of the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection wish you a happy National Children’s Day,” said Minister GA Bintang.

Indonesia’s competitive future resources are in the hands of Indonesian children, how important it is to invest in Indonesian children by fulfilling their rights and protecting them from all forms of violence. “Children are our future,” he said.

Cokorda Gede Bagus Lesmana Trisnu said that Gianyar Regency’s commitment to child protection was proven by the issuance of several regulations, one of which was the child protection regulation that had been set. All of that is a legal umbrella for the fulfillment of children’s rights, and this is a commitment from the regent as the fulfillment of children’s rights and the protection of children’s rights which are supported by all stakeholders of the Gianyar Regency Government.

Cokorda Gede Bagus Lesmana Trisnu is proud of the achievement of Gianyar Regency having received an award from KPAI in the category of Regency Local Government that is committed to Child Protection and Reporting based on Information System Monitoring Evaluation Reporting (SIMEP) Child Protection in 2021, and he appreciates KPAI for having gave an award to Gianyar Regency.
