Commemorating Eid al-Adha, Sandiaga Distributes 1,000 Sacrificial Animals

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno together with a number of Islamic organizations distributed 1,000 sacrificial animals simultaneously on Eid al-Adha 1442 Hijri which falls today, Tuesday (20/7/2021).

The distribution of the sacrificial animals is expected to be a momentum for unity in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Currently we are in the midst of concern. But the spirit should not be reduced, hope must be maintained,” he said excitedly when he symbolically handed over the sacrificial cows to residents in Sukmajaya, Depok, West Java on Tuesday (20/7/2021).

Not only Depok, the distribution of sacrificial animals consisting of cows, buffalo and goats was also distributed to Islamic boarding schools to mosques and prayer rooms spread across 17 provinces throughout Indonesia.

Among others, East Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, West Java, DKI Jakarta, Banten, South Kalimantan, North Sulawesi.

Next, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Gorontalo, North Sumatra, Riau, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

The delivery of sacrificial animals, explained Sandiaga Uno, was carried out in a hybrid manner in as many as 114 slaughtering locations.

He also assured that the entire slaughtering process was carried out by implementing strict and disciplined health protocols, starting from slaughtering, to distributing sacrificial meat to the community.

“Covid-19 is indeed very difficult, but we must not lose our enthusiasm to share, help each other and together end this pandemic. Here we are tested,” said Sandiaga Uno.

On this occasion, he also expressed his gratitude to all parties who are fighting against COVID-19, especially health workers, TNI-Polri, ambulance drivers to funeral officers who have become the frontline in handling disasters.

“In addition, I also express my deep gratitude to business actors, traders who limit their operating hours, and employees who work at home to help reduce the burden on hospitals and health facilities,” he explained.

In line with the enthusiasm shown by the fighters at the forefront, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, he said, continues to try to present policies that are useful, right on target and on time.

The goal is to re-open business opportunities and employment opportunities for the nation’s economic revival.

“Rising up in difficult times, winning against covid, creating jobs again, yes we can do it,” he concluded excitedly.

After being friendly and watching the procession of slaughtering sacrificial animals, Sandiaga Uno who was accompanied by Atta Halilintar also toured the residents’ settlements.

The two of them door to door distributed sacrificial meat to residents on Jalan Prosperity, Cisalak, Sukmajaya, Depok, West Java.

Sacrifice the Limousine Cow

Along with the distribution of 1,000 sacrificial animals, the extended family of Sandiaga Uno also distributed a limousine cow weighing 350 kilograms to the Management of the Ar-Raudhah Mushala, Gang Mahabbah Sekumpul Martapura, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan.

The cows were handed over by Darmawan Jaya Setiawan as a representative of the big family of Sandiaga Uno to the Imam of the Ar-Raudhah Mosque Sekumpul Martapura, KH Sa’duddin on Monday (19/7/2021).

KH Sa’duddin also welcomed the arrival of the cow from Awang Bangkal, Banjar Regency.

Representing the community, he also expressed his gratitude as well as thanks to the big family of Sandiaga Uno.

“Alhamdulillah and thank you for the trust of Mr. Sandiaga Salahudin Uno and his family who handed over their sacrificial cows to us,” said KH Sa’duddin Salman.

“God willing, the cuts will be made after the Eid al-Adha prayer. Where the distribution is only to residents in Gang Mahabbah and its surroundings and the direct committee will hand it over to residents’ homes or door to door,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Darmawan Jaya Setiawan said that the cow was a sacrifice on behalf of Sandiaga Uno, his wife and parents, namely Henk Uno and Mien Uno.

Through the distribution of the sacrificial animals, he hopes to be a blessing for the big family of Sandiaga Uno and the people of Sekumpul.

“Yes, hopefully the existence of a sacrificial cow from Mr. Sandiaga Uno’s big family can give blessings to him and the Sekumpul community, especially Gang Mahabbah,” he concluded.
