Badung Receives 3000 BNPT Packages – Bali Travel News

Badung Regent I Nyoman Giri Prasta attended a Coordination Meeting (Rakor) with the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) virtually from the Head Office (RJ) of the Badung Regent Puspem, Saturday (17/7). This coordination meeting was held before carrying out the distribution of Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) from the central government through the Ministry of Social Affairs during the Implementation of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in Java and Bali. The Coordination Meeting led by the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini accompanied by the Director General of Social Protection and Security Pepen Nazaruddin was followed by regents/mayors throughout Java and Bali.

Regent Giri Prasta accompanied by Regional Secretary Adi Arnawa and Head of Social Affairs I Ketut Sudarsana said 3000 packages would be given by the Ministry of Social Affairs which on Monday (19/7) will be directly distributed to regencies/mayors throughout Java-Bali. Furthermore, the district/city government distributes it to the people who have not received assistance. “Later, when the rice sent from the center has arrived in Badung, we Badung Regency Government will immediately distribute this non-cash food assistance to people who have not received cash assistance in Badung Regency,” he said.

Because in Badung, the Giri Prasta Regent continued, there will be people who will receive direct cash assistance from the APBD and non-cash food assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs, so that those who have received basic necessities will no longer receive cash and vice versa. “In the future, if there are problems and people who have not received this assistance in Badung Regency in the distribution of this social assistance, the government has prepared a complaint post at the Badung Regency Social Service, so that people can report there and are no longer confused about where to report,” he added.

Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini ensured that he would continue to strengthen the validity and accuracy of poverty data, so that it would further improve the accuracy of targets in the distribution of aid. This coordination meeting ensures that the data updating process runs in a transparent and participatory manner. In addition, strengthening data accuracy is also carried out with the support of all regional heads throughout Java and Bali.

The Minister of Social Affairs ensures the readiness of the Ministry of Social Affairs in supporting government policies in anticipating the implementation of the Emergency PPKM. The Ministry of Social Affairs together with regional heads throughout Java and Bali are in the social protection cluster by providing social assistance (bansos) for affected communities. Most importantly, the Ministry of Social Affairs does not provide direct cash assistance but non-cash food assistance in the form of basic necessities.
