In this regard, with the decreasing environmental conditions in the Lerang Area of ​​Mount Sindoro, Mount Sumbing, and Mount Prau, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has also supported the Temanggung Regency Government’s program to carry out environmental rehabilitation activities in the form of soil and water conservation by conducting greening. .

As a form of Social and Environmental Responsibility to support the preservation of land in the Temanggung Regency area, Thursday (28/1/2021) PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) handed over the “Belt of Mount Temanggung” Nature Conservation Assistance in the form of 18,000 Tree Seeds worth IDR 200,000. 000.

This Corporate Socal Responsibility (CSR) assistance for KAI’s Community Development Program Cares for Nature Conservation was delivered at the Regent Office of Temanggung.

The handover of aid was symbolically carried out by the Executive Vice President of PT KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta Asdo Artriviyanto who was conveyed to the Regent of Temanggung HM. Al Khadziq with Kajari Temanggung Sunanto accompanied by the Head of the Environment Agency of Temanggung Regency, Entargo, Yutri Wardono, as the person in charge of reforesting the “Belt of the Mountain” of the Temanggung Region.

The assistance provided is realized for the procurement of conservation plant seeds with details of 8,000 bamboo plant seeds, 5,000 banyan plant seeds, 5,000 palm plant seeds as a means of environmental rehabilitation in the form of soil and water conservation where the planting locations are the slopes of Mount Sindoro, Mount Sumbing, and Mountain Slopes. Prau which covers 11 districts in Temanggung Regency.

Executive Vice President of PT KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta Asdo Artriviyanto who was present gave direct assistance to the location revealed that PT. KAI (Persero) as one of the BUMNs that was given a direct mandate by the President of the Republic of Indonesia through the Ministry of BUMN has a social responsibility to the community, especially stakeholders.

The social responsibility given by KAI this time is related to the environment, namely Nature Conservation.

“We support reforestation, not only in Temanggung Regency, but throughout Indonesia,” said Asdo.

In addition, in Temanggung Regency, PT KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta was also given the responsibility of the government to safeguard the assets that were authorized to KAI, concluded Asdo.

It is hoped that the assistance of this environmental rehabilitation program can restore the environmental quality of the mountain slopes to be greener, so that it has an impact on improving the health status of the community, as well as improving the economy of the people around the Slopes of Mount Sindoro, Mount Sumbing, and Slopes of Mount Prau.
