Bali Tourism, DENPASAR – The Supreme Court ruled that Swiss-Belhotel Segara, located in Nusa Dua, South Kuta District, Badung Regency, was declared bankrupt.
This decision was stated in the decision of the Supreme Court No. 1049 K / Pdt.Sus-Pailit / 2020 Jo. No.268 / Pdt.Sus-PKPU / 2019 / PN.Niaga.Jkt.Pst dated September 14, 2020.
Responding to this, the Deputy Governor of Bali, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati (Cok Ace) said that until now there has been no bankrupt hotel.
According to him, the suspected bankruptcy status at Swiss-Belhotel Segara is still in process.
“Yes, I think it’s still in process, no one has gone bankrupt,” said Cok Ace when met after the inauguration of the Indonesian Ombudsman building for the Bali Representatives, Friday, January 29, 2021.
However, he admitted that he heard that long before the Covid-19 pandemic there had been many issues selling hotels in Bali.

The chairman of the Regional Executive Board (BPD) of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) Bali assessed that this was an effort for outsiders just to see the price.
“But what is clear, my friends, is that we are thought to have gone bankrupt in Bali so that there are outsiders who want to buy our assets in Bali. This is what we need to look at in the future,” he pleaded.
He also appealed to entrepreneurs in Bali not to let their assets be released to outsiders even in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Tribun Bali previously reported, the General Manager of Swiss-Belhotel Segara Nusa Dua, Hendrik Rumapea also objected to this.
“The objection is that the hotel is closed. If we wish, the hotel will continue to operate,” said Hendrik, Thursday, January 28, 2021.
He admitted that he did not know the exact reason that Swiss-Belhotel Segara Nusa Dua was declared bankrupt.
He said the curatorial team of three met the management of the four-star hotel yesterday.
The results of the meeting stated that the hotel operation was bankrupt and is now under the control of the curator.
“I don’t know the details, but what is clear is that from September last year it was declared bankrupt by the Supreme Court. And currently it is still in the process of reconsideration (PK),” he said.
Hendrik hopes that the curator will continue to operate the hotel operations as usual in the review process or the hotel will remain open.
He reasoned that currently it was still in the period of the Covid-19 pandemic which made the hotel still in a difficult situation.
“A pandemic such as where everything is still in difficult circumstances, hotels are still in a difficult situation. So that employee layoffs do not occur, we hope this hotel can continue to run,” he added.
Take Over Curator
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Swiss-Belhotel Segara Nusa Dua operations were temporarily closed for four months from April to July 2020.
Then it began operating again in August with a one-month work system, employees logged in five to eight times alternately. The curator controls the hotel operation.
“Those who are in control of hotel operations now are they (curators). Later they will see and monitor how it goes on. We hope to keep it open,” hoped Hendrik.
